My love for the field of marketing was developed in undergrad at Howard University and has grown deeper through my concentration in brand management and digital marketing in NYU’s Integrated Marketing program. I am interested in how brands are discovering consumer insights to inform strategies and utilizing new media platforms to reach consumers. I believe that great strategy begins with listening to consumers, and then speaking their language to develop trust and to propel culture forward.
Miami, where it all started! I grew up in Miami, FL taking the year-round sun and beach life for granted. Fortunately for me, the year-round sun makes Miami a great training ground for a track & field athlete. I was awarded an athletic/academic scholarship for college and made my way to the Nation's capital to attend Howard University.
While at Howard, I matriculated through the School of Business as a Marketing major and had the opportunity to take part in several organizations outside of my studies and life on the track. I became a member of the American Marketing Association and my love for the field of marketing (and Brooklyn) can be attributed to my first internship with the clothing line, The Brooklyn Circus.
I was also exposed to the thrill of international travel while at Howard. I traveled to Hong Kong with the Fashion Council for Hong Kong fashion week and to South Africa for the 2010 World Cup with The Grassroot Project, an organization created to educate at-risk youth from Washington D.C. about HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention by utilizing Division I “student-athlete” role models.
In May of 2011, I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Howard University with a B.B.A. in Marketing. Knowing that I wanted to continue on my academic quest, I applied to New York University's Master's degree program in Integrated Marketing and was accepted. So again I packed my things and moved to Brooklyn, U.S.A.
Upon moving to Brooklyn and officially registering for classes at NYU, I decided on a combination of brand management and digital marketing as my concentration. This track allowed me to take courses such as Social Media and The Brand, Brand Strategy and Brand Management among others. My studies were also enriched by my internships working for the agencies Octagon First Call and Team Epiphany.
While at NYU, I had the opportunity to work on projects for DirectTV, virtual fashion incubator Thunderlily NYC and Danna Garcia, star of the telenovela Qué Bonito Amor. As part of the NYU Inbound Marketing Clinic, designed to stimulate students’ creative expression through practical application of inbound marketing tools and strategies, I wrote a blog post on the ways that brands can utilize Tumblr for business. Check it out here.

Though I ran track in college, since graduating, I've picked back up with my first sport, tennis. It's a great way to rack up NikeFuel points and de-stress!
I love discovering music, both new and old. If I'm not crate digging at a local flea market, I'm probably scouring the internet for something new.
Speaking of local flea markets, they are the best places to pick up vintage clothing, a hobby I picked up while interning at the Brooklyn Circus.
Along with fashion design, I also enjoy traveling while exploring other cultures and, of course, taking full advantage of the beach and sun whenever I'm back home in Miami.
